The EU JRC workshop on drought

Today, I am going to participate in a workshop about drought organised by the European Union’s JRC (Joint Research Centre) in Ispra, Italy.

I am a scientist but not in climate sciences. That’s why I came here to ask them to study together why heavy precipitation occurs in exactly 21 days after each large-scale movement of ungulates.

This pattern is observed everywhere on Earth, no matter what the geography is. It is just like the monsoon happening after natural migrations of ungulates in Africa. It looks like Nature has a hidden mechanism evolved to bring the right conditions (temperature and humidity) to the places where the microbiome was spread by hooves of ungulates.

It might be possible that the climate change, in reality could have at least two contributors. The main contributor being the increase of GHG in the atmosphere, the second one might be a broken natural mechanism.

The existence of the mechanism might be possible because of the following observations and literature data:

• Places with no natural predator-ungulate system are most susceptible to drought.
• If the predator-ungulate system is (re)introduced to these places, then drought is most likely going to be decreased and the ecology of the area going to be increased.
• If these places have livestock on it and it is managed by regenerative grazing practices, then drought is most likely going to be decreased and the ecology of the area going to be increased.
• Places with too much large-scale movement of ungulates are most susceptible to floods.
• Wet and cold weather often occurred during wars involved cavalries.
• Droughts are often followed by flash floods, because humans are forced to migrate with their livestock i.e. a large-scale movement of ungulates take place.
